Combatting Anabolic Resistance (50+)
01. Halt Sarcopenia
Post-50, muscle loss is the primary driver of frailty. Protein is the structural substrate for longevity. Our model uses a $1.8\text{g}–2.2\text{g}/kg$ coefficient to offset decreased tissue sensitivity.
02. The Leucine Trigger
To stimulate Muscle Protein Synthesis (MPS) in masters athletes, you must hit a "threshold" of ~3g of Leucine per meal. This typically requires 40g+ of high-quality protein per bolus.
03. Glycemic Sinks
Muscle is your largest metabolic organ. By protecting lean mass, you maintain a "glucose sink," keeping insulin sensitivity high and preventing systemic "inflammaging."
