Academic Research: Mobility vs Flexibility

The Joint-By-Joint Approach

For the athlete over 50, a loss of ankle mobility forces the knee (a stability joint) to compensate, leading to chronic inflammation and tissue failure. We prioritize functional Range of Motion (fROM) over simple static stretching.

Connective Tissue Aging

With age, tendons and ligaments lose elastic properties. Mobility training provides the mechanical loading necessary to stimulate tenocyte activity and maintain the integrity of the extracellular matrix.
